Episode 3: Healthy and Happy Chicks: Ducks, Turkeys & Geese

They're about 2 weeks old (and I haven't lost any yet!). They eat ALL of their greens! It's too early to let them out of the coop yet - still a bit cold. They get loads of fresh well water and sunlight, and live according to their nature, protected from predators.
Enjoy this clip from today:

Two or three times a day, I go out and spend time with the duck, turkey and geese chicks. They sleep, play and eat together like siblings... they're happy and healthy and bringing me a whole lotta joy!

Episode 2: A Shared Weekend in Nature

My significant other has joined a Meetup community that hikes, camps, bikes, and kayaks together.

It's the first time in our relationship that he's out there doing something on his own, which is a fabulous development, and now we're inviting people into our home, and I've become a willing hostess to this community of adventurous souls.

The first warm weekend in 2014, a bunch of people from this Meetup group joined us, camping in our yard for a weekend of outdoor fun in the Catskill Mountains. Many of the people we were meeting for the first time, some had joined us before. It was a fabulous experience for everyone involved!

All meals were pot luck, and as we had people with different food needs, in general the food was vegan and very delicious! There was meat for non-vegetarians, in the form of venison stew & BBQ pork loin.

There's nothing quite as healing, refreshing, inspiring, and healthy as spending a bunch of time in nature.

Episode One: The First Dig in the Garden

It's been a long, hard winter. But I feel spring in the air today and that means it's time to start digging in the garden.

I've spent the past 14 years disengaging from "the system" and learning how to live simply and cheaply, using a mix of traditional wisdom and progressive innovations. It hasn't always been fun, productive or easy, but I've finally arrived at a point where I've got a few notches on my "resiliency belt" and feel compelled to share my knowledge with the world.

Resilience is the idea that if we put back more than we take, humanity has a future. It's also about bouncing back from adversity. Living resiliently is the only way I can feel that I'm doing *anything* to protect the future for our children.

I hope you enjoy the video, subscribe, and engage with me in the comments section!
